LOCATION :         Brisbane Water itself is nowhere near the city of Brisbane... or Queensland for that matter. It is an estuary situated about 50 Km north of Sydney - New South Wales in a region known as the NSW Central Coast and is named after colonial governor Thomas Brisbane. Just to confuse the issue further, there is also a Central Coast in Western Australia, Tasmania and Queensland.

HMAS ADELAIDE : The Defense Minister, Brendan Nelson announced on February 8th 2007 that the escort frigate HMAS Adelaide will be gifted to the New South Wales Government and sunk as a dive wreck and artificial reef in 35 metres off Terrigal. Great news and due in part to the efforts of local committees of which BWAC representatives were prominent.
