City Extra
City Extra represents a major nine storey infill development in the centre of the Newcastle CBD. Spanning an entire city block, the 89 apartments are accessed from both Bolton and Newcomen Streets with two distinct entry lobbies from each street.
Both street facades have been designed to complement the existing streetscape with particular emphasis on the Bolton Street facade and its relationship to the adjacent heritage buildings.
The street facing apartments are connected by a higher central link of apartments across the site that are set back a minimum of nine metres from the side boundaries to ensure all apartments are provided with quality natural light and ventilation.
Apartments range from single bedroom apartments on the lower levels to large three bedroom apartments on the upper floors with great harbour views and functional large decks.
The final design has resulted in a fully integrated major urban infill development in the centre of Newcastle CBD that sits comfortably and unobtrusively within its streetscape and urban fabric.
