DIRECTOR

Bede commenced employment with EJE in 2005 while undertaking his degree in Architecture. He was able to get a wide variety of experience in 12 months before returning to university to complete his studies. During his studies, Bede was awarded the 2006 NSW Architects Registration Board Design award for his theoretical mixed-use project in Newcastle’s CBD. He graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2007 with Honours & returned to full-time work with EJE, becoming an associate of the firm in 2015, a Principal in 2017 & Director in 2020.

In his 18 years at EJE, Bede has gained experience in a wide variety of projects including design, documentation & construction services to a number of project types including private residences, multi unit residential developments, public buildings, commercial developments and large scale master planning projects.

​One of Bede’s most recent completed projects was the Foreshore Apartments at Toronto, NSW which was awarded the 2021 UDIA NSW Award for excellence in the Regions Development Category. “The Foreshore is a well-deserved winner of this award. The judges were impressed with how well the development relates to the adjoining public spaces including the Lake Macquarie foreshore. The design incorporated several buildings creating strategic view corridors and welcoming open spaces for the residents. The development incorporated a subtle nautical theme to reflect the lakeside setting. The judges were also impressed with the range and variety of dwelling types and the high standard of construction and finishes.” The UDIA NSW Judges stated.
