
Bede commenced employment with EJE in 2005 while undertaking his degree in Architecture. He was able to get a wide variety of experience in 12 months before returning to university to complete his studies. During his studies, Bede was awarded the 2006 NSW Architects Registration Board Design award for his theoretical mixed-use project in Newcastle’s CBD. He graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2007 with Honours & returned to full-time work with EJE, becoming an associate of the firm in 2015 and a Principal in 2017. In his 12 years at EJE, Bede has gained experience in a wide variety of projects including design, documentation & construction services to a number of project types including private residences, multi unit residential developments, public buildings, commercial developments and large scale master planning projects.
One of Bede’s most recent completed projects was the Fletcher Community Centre which was awarded the 2014 Lower Hunter Urban Design Award for Best Small Scale Commercial Development. The Fletcher Community Centre was constructed by Urban Growth NSW for the Newcastle City Council as part of a Voluntary Planning Agreement to deliver much needed recreation facilities for the community in the Minmi corridor.
