The Entrance District Sporting and Community Centre (EDSACC) is located on The Entrance Road, Bateau Bay, and is opposite The Entrance Leagues Club.
The Entrance Leagues club and EJE have a long history with EJE designing many of the renovation projects the club has undertaken over the years. EJE assisted with concept plans for a modest grandstand on the EDSACC oval opposite the club on Council owned land (home of The Entrance Tigers-the club league team), and the club successfully sought and were awarded a State Grant of $2M through the local member for the project.
The grant had a strict timeline and schedule of work to ensure the money was spent judiciously. EJE designed and documented the project in record time, sought DA approval, put the project out to tender and moved into construction phase all within the timeframes stipulated. Norths Building and Construction, the successful tenderer then worked tirelessly to ensure all deadlines were met and the project was ready for occupation within the schedule (End of September ’18).
The Grandstand has seating for 500 people, Male Female and Accessible toilets, a store room, Kitchen, Bar and a Corporate space that opens up to a wide concourse on the top level. The project was completed for $2M, (exactly the grant awarded) and represents excellent value for money for facilities vs cost.
Change rooms are being constructed by Council elsewhere on the oval. Purlins, Bracing and all ceiling battening in the main span of the roof is Aluminium, given the site is within 1k of the ocean.
The Entrance Tigers colours are black and Orange, hence the seat colours. The bar décor is modern with natural timber and stone finishes. Ceiling features in timber.
The project is a win for all concerned , with the whole community benefitting for this additional, beautiful facility.
