EJE Green Wall

October 27, 2015DFWUncategorized

EJE will be making some changes to its own office in the coming weeks, with a new “green wall” designed by Terras Landscape Architects being planted along the western facade of the King Street building. The deciduous Boston Ivy covering will act as a simple, low tech ESD solution to temperature control within the building. Attaching itself naturally to the wall without the need for a supporting structure, the shade of the vine leaves will decrease the heat load on the wall during summer, but allow the thermal mass of the bricks absorb heat in winter. The works will also include the installation of new bicycle parking and a rainwater harvesting system, proudly showing EJE and Terras’s commitment to Environmentally Sustainable Design.
