Glendale Interchange Sculpture

May 24, 2016JoDyerUncategorized

Designed by EJE, a sculpture surmounting a new roundabout within the Glendale Interchange was recently unveiled. Like many significant artworks, the piece has attracted some lively public discussion! The large scale artwork, comprised of three intertwining rings between 12m and 18m diameter, makes reference to the interconnection of Glendale and Cardiff. The colour scheme of the rings and undulating ground form below takes inspiration from Lake Macquarie City Council’s branding logo’s for Cardiff, Glendale and the surrounding suburbs.

The date of the public opening of the interchange is yet to be announced.
