The Lower Hunter Urban Design Awards celebrated 40 years of presentations on Friday night at Newcastle City Hall. This year’s awards were established to acknowledge the best urban design projects for the last 40 years.
EJE had 7 nominations and were fortunate to win the category of Small Scale Commercial with East Maitland Library along with a Merit Award in the Large Scale Commercial category with Sandvik Australia Operations Centre.
One of the major awards of the evening was for Outstanding Contribution by an Architect and EJE were honoured to be presented as winner of this category. Founding partner Peter Johnson attended the evening and accepted the award on behalf of EJE, giving a very heart felt and humble speech thanking everyone in the firm.
