Almost 12 months on from when the Nelson Bay Golf Clubhouse burnt virtually to the ground on Father’s Day 2015, the ashes are being cleared and the re-build is now underway. Soon the last parts of the old building will be removed and the new will begin to rise behind.
The club is the home club of over 3500 members and has grown organically from a seven hole farm course to one of the best 27 hole golfing experiences in New South Wales. The new club house will be a far cry from the fibro shack it once was and will feature extensive members’ lounges, a contemporary dining room with spectacular views of the golf course, flexible function spaces as well as modern locker room and shower facilities. It will bring up to date the facilities to match the quality of its fairways and greens.
EJE Architecture along with Coffey Projects, Club Projects Newcastle and a team of consultants are working hard behind the scenes to set in place the new shape of Port Stephens premier golf club.
