The underlying brief requirement for this bespoke inner urban residence was to provide apartment living but in a house. This high quality and luxurious residence is set on a small corner block within the uber trendy suburb of The Junction and incorporates both passive and active ESD principles to provide an environmentally sound and sensitive result. Mechanically activated sun shade louvres allow the occupant to control solar access into the residence during summer and winter whilst mechanically operated glass louvres allow natural breezes to cool the dwelling. A small residence is made to feel large through the inclusion of a double height living and dining area overlooking a stunning lap pool with backlit decorative metal screens. Landscaping is both minimalist and sculptural further highlighting the modern forms of the dwelling whilst glass stacking doors provide seamless integration between the living areas and the undercover entertaining area again increasing the sense of light and space.
