On 30th August 2012 Barney Collins, Kathy Gresham, Grant Shultz and Jason Condon attended the official opening of WesTrac’s $150 million Newcastle Service Centre and Training Institute. The facility was opened by the Premier of NSW Barry O’Farrell, with Senator Chris Evans, Minister for Tertiary Education, Skills, Jobs and Workplace Relations, reinforcing the federal government’s support for the WesTrac Training Institute which will provide ongoing training and support for up to 400 apprentices each year.
This world class project incorporates 12 major buildings, with 50,000 square metres under roof, on a 23 Hectare site facing Tomago road at Tomago. The completed development includes workshops, administration and staff facilitates for the sales, service and assembly of Caterpillar equipment.
